Doves

Doves is a contemplative pair of paintings designed to be displayed facing one another, where the space between the two canvases becomes an essential part of the composition. The tension created by the distance between the doves in flight generates a powerful visual and emotional energy. When positioned correctly, this negative space subtly evokes the form and presence of the Aron Kodesh. The use of gold and silver carries symbolic meaning inspired by Rav Kook’s teachings: gold represents the inner, deeper dimensions of mitzvot understood by scholars, while silver symbolizes the external expressions accessible to all. Together, the two materials illustrate the harmony between the inner and outer aspects of Jewish spiritual life.
