BMG Beis Medresh is part of my Gold Series, carved from wood with seven distinct levels. Each layer was individually gilded with gold leaf, airbrushed with transparent tones, and finished with opalescent paints. At first glance it appears to be an abstract topographical map, but in the proper light it transforms into an almost photorealistic Beis Medresh. My favorite part is watching the moment a viewer discovers the hidden image come to life.

Each Gold Series painting is a handcrafted original by Alex Greenfield. While compositions may be revisited, every piece is unique, with its own texture, gold leaf, color, and character. Each composition is limited to just 15 originals before being permanently retired.
